The Research Gate Project is an exclusive program by The Study Boards designed for international dental graduates applying to U.S. dental schools through CAAPID.
Dental programs in the United States are highly competitive. Beyond exam scores, they look for candidates who demonstrate academic engagement, curiosity, and genuine contribution to the field. A peer-reviewed publication is one of the most powerful differentiators you can add to your application.
Through this program, selected participants work alongside US-licensed dentists and academic mentors to research, write, and publish a dental article in an indexed journal — giving you a credential that sets your CAAPID profile apart from the competition.
“Research is not just a line on your CV — it tells dental schools that you think like a clinician-scientist, not just a test-taker.”

From your first CV submission to a published, peer-reviewed article — here is every step of the journey, guided by Dr. T and Dr. Kaur.

Start by submitting your curriculum vitae (CV) using the application form below, expressing your interest in joining the Research Gate Project. There is no fee to apply. Applications are reviewed by Dr. T and Dr. Kaur on a rolling basis.
If your CV stands out, you will receive an interview call with faculty members — Dr. T and Dr. Kaur — who will assess your research potential and compatibility with the project. This is a conversational interview designed to understand your background and goals.
Upon successful acceptance into the Research Gate Project, you will be required to make an initial enrollment payment of $250 USD. This payment grants you access to a research paper — typically a case report — on which you will work with the team. A second payment of $250 USD is due upon publication of the final article.
As you progress through the project, your submissions and assignments are evaluated. Based on the quality of your work, you may earn authorship credits on the research paper — adding significant prestige to your profile and highlighting your active involvement in dental research.
After multiple rounds of revisions and feedback, your final thesis is submitted to publishers for publication. The timeframe for publication is typically around 4–5 months, depending on the thoroughness of your research and preparation.
A publication transforms how dental schools see you as a candidate — far beyond what exam scores alone can communicate.
Your name appears as co-author on a peer-reviewed, indexed dental journal article — verifiable by any admissions committee.
Research experience gives you compelling, specific answers to interview questions about your academic contributions and clinical curiosity.
Most international applicants have similar scores and clinical hours. Research is a rare credential that places you in the top tier of competitive candidates.
Work alongside international peers and expert mentors — building relationships and expanding your professional network in the dental community.
Gain hands-on experience with literature review, research design, academic writing, and the peer-review process — skills valued in residency programs too.
Every batch is guided by The Study Boards faculty — US-licensed dental professionals who understand exactly what dental schools look for in a competitive applicant.
This program is built for international dental graduates who are serious about building a competitive CAAPID application.
There is no cost to apply or interview. Upon formal acceptance, an initial payment of $250 USD grants full access to the research project. A second payment of $250 USD is due upon publication of your article.
