What is the Research Gate Project?

An exclusive program by The Study Boards for international dental graduates applying to U.S. dental schools through CAAPID. U.S. programs look beyond exam scores for candidates who show academic engagement, curiosity, and genuine contribution to the field — a peer-reviewed publication is one of the most powerful differentiators you can add to your profile.

A

Peer-reviewed publication

Citable on your CV, your CAAPID application, and any future re-application cycles.

B

US-licensed mentors

Direct guidance from Dr. T, Dr. Kaur, and a clinical research team based in the U.S.

C

Collaborative batch

Work with a small cohort of motivated international applicants — peer review, accountability, shared learning.

D

CAAPID-specific framing

The whole program is built around what U.S. dental admissions committees actually reward.

How the Research Gate Project works

Five clear stages from application to citable publication.

01

Apply with your CV

Submit a free application with your CV and a short profile. Our team reviews fit and academic readiness.

02

Interview call

Selected applicants book a short interview slot with Dr. T to discuss research interests and commitments.

03

Acceptance & enrollment

On acceptance, a $250 USD enrollment payment grants access to a research paper — typically a case report — that you’ll work on with the team.

04

Authorship & submission

Submissions and assignments are evaluated. Based on the quality of your work, you may earn authorship credits on the final paper.

05

Final thesis & publication

After multiple revisions, your final thesis is submitted to publishers. Publication timeline is typically 4–5 months.

Why research changes everything

A publication transforms how programs read your file — moving you from “applicant on paper” to “contributor to the field.”

01

Citable published research

A verifiable, permanently citable manuscript you can list on your CV and CAAPID application.

02

Stronger interview performance

You walk into interviews with a real research story to tell — not a vague intention.

03

Differentiated CAAPID profile

Most applicants don’t have peer-reviewed publications with U.S. clinicians. You will.

04

Collaborative learning

Small batch format — peer review, accountability, and shared growth across the cohort.

05

Academic methodology skills

You learn how clinical research is structured, written, and submitted — skills that carry into dental school.

06

US-licensed dentist mentorship

Every publication is mentored by a US-licensed dentist — direct lines into the U.S. clinical-academic world.

Program investment

Free to apply · paid in two stages

Application is free. If you’re accepted into the batch, the program fee is paid in two stages — enrollment and publication.

Stage 1 · On enrollment$250 USDGrants access to a research paper (typically a case report) and the mentored batch.
Stage 2 · On publication$250 USDDue once your final article is published. Pay only when the deliverable is real.

No upfront cost. You only enroll if you’re selected — and the second payment is contingent on publication.

Frequently asked questions

Is the application really free?

Yes. The application is free, no payment is required until you’re accepted into a batch. After acceptance the program fee is paid in two stages ($250 on enrollment, $250 on publication).

Will my name appear on the published article?

Yes. Participating batch members are included as co-authors on the final published manuscript — a verifiable, citable publication you can list on your CV and CAAPID application.

How long does the program take?

The publication timeline is typically 4–5 months from enrollment, depending on the thoroughness of your research and preparation. We’ve successfully completed and published 15+ batches to date.

Can I apply if I’ve already submitted my CAAPID application?

Yes. A publication strengthens future application cycles and can be referenced in interviews, supplemental applications, and re-application cycles. If you’re preparing for a future CAAPID cycle, this is an especially strategic addition to your profile.

What kind of research will I be doing?

Typically a clinical case report — guided by Dr. T and Dr. Kaur — designed to be peer-reviewed and published in a recognised dental journal. The exact case is assigned after acceptance based on batch composition.
