One of the hardest things about applying to U.S. Advanced Standing dental programs as an international dentist is preparing for the bench-test — the practical hands-on evaluation many schools require during the interview process. There is no central source of truth: every school designs its own exam, and what was tested last year may not be tested this year.

What follows is a community-sourced list, compiled from students who interviewed at each school and shared what was asked. We organise it here by university so it is easy to scan when you receive an invite. The categories below cover what the test focused on: cavity preparations, crowns, wax-ups, RPD design, and combinations of these.

Important — Read first: Every entry is student-reported. Schools update their bench-test content over time, and what one applicant saw may differ from what you see. Always confirm with your school directly after you receive an invite. Treat this list as a practice starting point, not an official syllabus.
