Interview Preparation · Dr. Slesnick & Dr. T

Three Sessions. Confidence That Carries Through the Whole Cycle.

Confidence in an interview is not a script — it is how you carry yourself. Two sessions before your invites arrive build the habits. The third, after your first real interview, fixes exactly what almost cost you the offer — so it never happens at the next school.

Your 3 Sessions, Structured Across the Cycle

Not just a mock interview. Two sessions build the habit before your invites arrive; the third turns your real interview into the sharpest prep you will get.

1
Pre-Invite · With Dr. Slesnick
Foundation — Behavioral & MMI Groundwork
The questions every program asks: your motivation, your journey, your biggest strength and weakness, ethical scenarios, MMI-style prompts. Dr. Slesnick works through them with you, flags where your answers sound strong, generic, or rehearsed, and gives you the frameworks to speak like yourself under pressure.
  • Motivation, journey, and ethics questions, answered without a script
  • MMI-style scenarios, timed and sharpened

2
Pre-Invite · Slesnick + Dr. T Together
Integration — Communication, Presentation & The Hard Questions
Both faculty in the room. This is where we work on how you present — pace, presence, eye contact, sentence-first structure — and how to handle the tough moments: the curveball question, the follow-up you did not see coming, the pause most candidates fill with “um.” You also learn the underrated skill of gracefully saying “I don’t know” without losing the room.
  • Pace, presence, and sentence-first communication
  • Handling curveball and follow-up questions live

3
Post-Interview · Slesnick + Dr. T Together
Reflection — Debrief, Refine, Ready for the Next School
Book this after your first real interview. Bring the questions you were asked, the moments you felt strong, and the moments you froze. Both faculty walk through your interview live — what a stronger answer looked like, which patterns to keep, which to fix — so you leave with a refined game plan for the next school on your list.
  • Live debrief of your actual real interview
  • A refined game plan before your next school

What We Work On

Your Strengths. Your Weaknesses. Both Get Sharpened.

Some candidates need to stop over-explaining. Some need to slow down. Some need to stop apologizing. This is coaching about you, not a generic script.

Motivation & Story
“Why dentistry, why this program, why now” — answered with clarity, without a script.

Ethics & MMI Scenarios
Reasoning through hard cases live — with the structure programs actually score you on.

Communication Targeting
Pace, presence, eye contact, sentence-first structure — how you say it, not just what.

Handling Hard Questions
The curveball, the uncomfortable follow-up, the question that hits your weakest spot.

“I Don’t Know” — Gracefully
Acknowledging what you don’t know without losing the room. A skill programs quietly reward.

School-Specific Prep
Tailored to the actual program that invited you — interview style, values, common questions.

Timing It Right

Start Early, Save One for After

The behavioral muscle you need on interview day is not built in one week — and nothing sharpens your next interview like a live debrief of your last one.

Book the First Two Before Invites Arrive
Get Sessions 1 and 2 done during the CAAPID cycle, well before invites hit your inbox, and walk into every interview feeling like you have already been there.

Keep Session 3 for Your First Real Interview
Use Session 3 to rebuild the exact questions you were asked, walk through what a stronger answer looked like, and go into the next school ready.

Come Prepared With

Get the Most Out of Every Session

A few things ready before each call make the hour far more useful.

  • Your Personal Statement and CV in front of you — every question can trace back to them.
  • A list of programs you are targeting — school-specific prep gets sharper when we know the target.
  • The questions you are most nervous about — tell us the fear, and we will drill it.
  • For Session 3: the exact questions from your real interview and any moments you want to rebuild.
  • A quiet room, working microphone, stable internet, and camera on — show up the way an interview asks you to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Nothing sharpens your next interview like a live debrief of your last one. Session 3 is held after your first real interview so we can walk through the exact questions you were asked and refine your game plan before the next school — instead of guessing what might come up.

The 1-hour Clinical Discussion is a single focused session on clinical case reasoning and radiograph diagnosis. This is a full 3-session behavioral and MMI interview program, run live over Zoom with both Dr. Slesnick and Dr. T.

Not if your application is already built. This program is for interview prep specifically. If your Personal Statement, LOR review, and CV still need work, Master the CAAPID Application covers those plus interview prep together.

Book Sessions 1 and 2 during your CAAPID cycle, before invites arrive, so the behavioral habits are already built. Save Session 3 for right after your first real interview so we can debrief it while it is still fresh.
